It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce my withdrawal from the 2nd XV coaching set-up.
Unfortunately, the Rugby has to take a back seat for a while due to other commitments.
First of all, as you maybe know, myself and Aileen are starting a new business which involves opening a shop in Tantallon Rd in Shawlands. I had no idea how much work this was going to entail when we started, and have found that the project is using up a vast amount of my time after work(as well as costing us a lot of money!!).
And, as you probably also know, I joined a Samba band in June. I have since been asked to join the main band, which involves practising twice a week all year round, as well as gigs almost every week during the summer. This also takes up a vast amount of time.
And on top of all this (and because I love a challenge) I am getting married next October, so have a wedding to help organise aswell.
All of these projects mean a lot to me, as the Rugby does, and always will. However in the business, the band, and the wedding the onus lies with me to make them successes, and I feel that there are people that are more than capable of taking over the coaching of the Twos, and giving it the time it deserves, which, unfortunately, I cannot at present.
I do intend to stay involved in a supporting role, and will be the number one vocal supporter of the Twos at most games, so you're not getting rid of me completely.
I am hoping that Coco and Gemmell will accept the role as coaches of the Twos, with Greyhound in a supporting role until his hand is better. I'm sure you all agree that they will do a sterling job.
Once again I apologise for this, but I feel it is only fair on the Twos and the push for league glory that I step down and hand over to someone who can give the team and the season the time and commitment they deserve.
Cheers
Cavers
